Climbing Season
The exact dates are yet to be determined. However, in recent years, the Yoshida Route has opened on July 1, while the Subashiri, Gotemba, and Fujinomiya Routes have opened on July 10. All routes typically close on September 10.
The official announcement for the climbing season is usually made around June each year.
Restricted Climbing Hours
Climbing is not permitted between 2:00 PM and 3:00 AM the following day unless you have a reservation at a mountain hut.
Additionally, on the Yoshida Route, the trail will be closed if the number of climbers exceeds 4,000 per day. The limit may be reduced further.
Entry Fee
4,000 yen (same for all four routes).
Pre-Registration System
All climbers using routes from Shizuoka Prefecture (Subashiri, Gotemba, Fujinomiya Routes) must pre-register their climbing details (date, route, presence of mountain hut reservations, hut name, etc.) through the Shizuoka Prefecture Mount Fuji Climbing Pre-Registration System.
Moreover, prior to registration, it is mandatory to watch an e-learning video covering Mount Fuji climbing rules and etiquette.
On-site verification of your registration will be conducted.
Required Gear
If you do not have the necessary climbing equipment, you may be denied access to the trails.
